Gordon Green Wedding Venue was the perfect choice for Melissa and Philip’s Fall wedding day! It had both indoor and outdoor options that helped us work around the rain on their day. Gordon Green also has tons of natural light to help provide that light and airy feeling even when we were inside! The attached patio was adorned with string lights and is perfect for cocktail hour and mingling outside. It was also a great location to sneak outside for golden hour photos!
Melissa and Philip shared their first look at the Cleveland Museum of Art. They were so sweet when they finally got to see each other. It definitely helped their nerves! After their First Look we went right into portraits. It was a saving grace with the imminent threat of rain! We were able to take Bride and Groom portraits and start bridal party photos before the rain began. We huddled under the overhang of the Museum of Art to wait for brief gaps in the rain to finish off portraits before we headed back to Gordon Green Wedding Venue. Thanks to their first look, we were able to get in all of their photos outside and work around the rain!
The rest of their wedding day went smoothly! It was really neat to hear about Melissa and Philip’s kindness and generosity to each other’s family and friends in the beautiful speeches that were given at dinner. They had a live painter during their wedding day, Grace Schlea, who is incredibly talented! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen such beautiful, detailed lived paintings! She is such a gifted artist, and if I was planning my wedding day again and having a live painter, she would absolutely be my number one choice!
Grace painted what was one of the most dynamic and fun moments of their whole day- their first dance! Little did I know that Melissa and Philip are also Coldplay fans! They recessed from their ceremony to “Something Just Like This” and their first dance was to “A Sky Full of Stars.” If you know me, you know I’m a Coldplay fan, and Michael and I used both of these songs in our own wedding day!
They had such a high energy, fun dance, full of twists, dips, and lifts! Everyone in the room was cheering and so engaged! I absolutely loved it and couldn’t help but sing along as I watched them twirl away on the dance floor!
