There are some wedding days that feel like they were written straight out of a fairytale — and Colleen and Robert’s wedding day at The Bank at East End in Akron, Ohio was exactly that. A day filled with faith, family, friendship, and so much love, their celebration was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful weddings are centered around the people and moments that matter most.

A Romantic Summer Wedding Day Filled With Faith and Family
The day began at Colleen’s childhood home, where the girls spent the morning getting ready surrounded by the people who have loved and supported Colleen throughout her life. Even though the forecast called for storms and rain all day, the morning was calm, joyful, and full of excitement as everyone prepared for the celebration ahead.
One of the most meaningful parts of their wedding day was the intentional time Colleen and Robert set aside to pray and spend quiet moments together with their family and friends before the ceremony. Their faith was such a beautiful foundation throughout their entire day and marriage.
Their wedding ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hudson, Ohio, where they exchanged vows during a beautiful wedding Mass. Even though the forecast had called for storms all day, towards the end of the ceremony, the clouds broke and the sun began to shine through the windows and stayed for rest of the day!
It felt like the perfect gift for these two.
Romantic Wildflower Wedding Portraits in an Unexpected Place
Colleen’s wedding style was the perfect combination of romantic and elegant. Her wildflower-inspired vision, soft pink details, stunning wedding gown featuring a subtle jacquard texture, and cathedral-length veil created a timeless bridal look filled with beautiful, delicate details. Her bouquet was full of soft pastels and just an absolute dream. Nikki’s Perfect Petals does incredible work and anytime my brides have them as their florist, I know the day is going to be stunning!
One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is seeing the beauty and possibility in unexpected places.
On the way into the church before Mass, I spotted wildflowers blooming along the edge of the parking lot. Most people would have walked right past them, but I immediately saw the potential. I knew that if the sun came out after the ceremony, this little unassuming spot could become something truly beautiful — soft, dreamy portraits that looked like they were taken in a wildflower meadow.
After Mass, with the clouds finally breaking and the sunshine making an appearance, I mentioned to Colleen and Robert there was a spot that I thought we should use, and they were so sweet and open to whatever I suggested! I posed the two of them just off the side of the parking lot while I stepped into the flowers (and probably looked a little crazy doing it, but so worth it!), and these ended up being some of my favorite portraits from their entire wedding day!
I absolutely love and appreciate the trust my couples give me! It is something I never take for granted.
You would never guess that this romantic, dreamy setting was actually beside a church parking lot near a small ditch. The soft foreground of wildflowers in bloom created the most beautiful, ethereal feel framing the sweet newlyweds — a perfect reflection of Colleen and Robert’s joyful, romantic day.
Sometimes the most beautiful moments happen in the most unexpected places.
We also took portraits over in Downtown Hudson on Main Street and in the Hudson Green, and I just can’t get over how beautiful of a day these two had with all the sunshine when originally we were prepping for a rain plan until just before the start of their ceremony… Sometimes Ohio weather has a mind of it’s own and in this case, it was the perfect surprise!

The reception space was the perfect setting for Colleen and Robert to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. After a beautiful homily from their priest about marriage being a dance — which was especially fitting because these two are amazing dancers — they spent the evening dancing, laughing, and celebrating with the people who mean the most to them.
