Natalie and Josh had a beautiful, unique wedding day that started at William McKinley Memorial in Niles, Ohio for an outdoor ceremony and ended at Avion on the Water for their Reception. The grand pillars of the museum made for a beautiful backdrop for their elegant wedding ceremony. As a Youngstown Ohio Wedding Photographer, I consider William McKinley Memorial to be a hidden little gem for weddings. I especially loved the garden in the middle of the monument! It has everything I could ask for as a photographer! It has shade and plenty of light white surfaces which makes for beautiful portraits and light! I also loved the grand columns on the inside of the garden area which made for the most picturesque scene of the newlyweds!
Natalie is a such a sweet, kind-hearted individual. She reminded me of a Greek Goddess or Princess with her beautiful golden waves and classic look. Natalie is actually an esthetician and did her own hair and makeup for her wedding day! I was so impressed! Josh was her perfect companion- steadfast and caring. It was so neat to see the way the two of them complimented each other.
After a gorgeous ceremony at McKinley Memorial Museum, we took as many portraits as possible at this location because we knew the forecast was threatening storms later. Thank goodness we did! Shortly after we arrived to Avion on the Water, thunderstorms were upon us! Before long, a tornado warning was in effect for our location and we took shelter inside the reception hall. I am SO grateful Natalie and Josh had allocated extra time in their wedding day, because this was the perfect example of not knowing what could potentially happen on your wedding day!
Thankfully, the storms passed and the warning lifted just in time for the guests to start arriving. The rest of the reception went off without a hitch! The love and joy on the dance floor was so evident, especially dancing with the little ones! I loved the special touches that Natalie and Josh’s family added to their reception including a “Youngstown Italian Cookie Table.” The table was full of so many varieties of cookies that were handmade with love from family recipes and they were definitely a hit!
I loved getting a chance to celebrate with Natalie and Josh on their wedding day, and would love the chance to celebrate yours with you, too!
